Velvet Letter Studio reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any such changes will take effect as soon as they are posted on the website. It is your responsibility to read the Terms and Conditions on each occasion you visit the website. All orders placed with Velvet Letter Studio will be subject to these Terms and Conditions. Velvet Letter Studio reserves the right to cancel an order at any stage.

Content and materials posted on this site may be copyright-protected content from others (third party content), used by Velvet Letter Studio either by permission or under section 107 of the Copyright Act as “Fair Use” for purposes such as education and research. If you believe your work is used on this website in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please email us at hello@velvetletterstudio.com and provide the following: Identification of what is claimed to have been infringed, your contact information, a statement that the person submitting the complaint is doing so with a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained is not authorized by the owner, a statement that the information provided is accurate and under penalty of perjury, a physical or electronic signature of the person submitting the complaint.

USE OF PHOTOS OR MATERIAL ON THE WEBSITE
Any photo of original artwork created by Velvet Letter Studio contained on this website is solely the property of Velvet Letter Studio, and may not be used in any other business without written permission. The use of photos in locations such as social media (including but not limited to Pinterest, Facebook or Instagram), is allowed only when Velvet Letter Studio is notified via Tag or Private Message on the specific platform.
PRICING
Pricing on our website represents the full retail price in USD and does not include postage or applicable taxes. All prices on our website are subject to change without notice. In the event that items on our website are priced incorrectly, Velvet Letter Studio retains the right to cancel and refund any orders placed for the products listed at the incorrect price. The price charged for the product or service purchased by the client will be the price in effect at the time the bulk order arose from that sample, is placed. Unless otherwise specified, the prices listed on this site are only valid for quantities of 50 pieces minimum. Clients will have notice of such prices in the order proposal. If a multiples/bulk order is placed directly through the website (cart), a separate invoice will be sent to the client for shipping and handling and taxes where applicable, along with an eventual overcharge if the order of fewer than 50 pieces is placed through this website.
COSTS, FEES + PAYMENT
The total cost (“Total Cost”) for all services is due in full prior to printing production. The first payment is a non-refundable retainer. At a minimum, the Client agrees that the retainer fee fairly compensates Velvet Letter Studio for committing to provide the service and turning down another potential project/client(s). Major credit cards and PayPal are accepted as payment methods, the client is responsible for representing and warranty that the credit card information provided is valid, correct and complete. The client will pay all charges incurred such as applicable taxes if any. Customs charges are the responsibility of the client if any are incurred.
EXCLUSIVITY
The client understands and agrees that he or she has hired Velvet Letter Studio exclusive of any other service provider. In order to provide a high level of satisfaction and quality service, no other service providers, other than an assistant or third party that Velvet Letter Studio hires to complete the services outlined in this agreement, are permitted to provide the same or similar services or products, paid or unpaid, at the locations and dates specified in this agreement.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
In the event that any copyrighted works are created as a result of the services provided by Velvet Letter Studio, Velvet Letter Studio owns all copyrights in any and all work it creates or produces pursuant to Federal Copyright law (Title 17, Chapter 2 Section 201-02 of the United States Code), whether registered or unregistered. Any and all products, whether tangible or intangible, produced or created in connection with, or in the process of fulfilling this agreement, are expressly and solely owned by Velvet Letter Studio and may be used in the reasonable course of Velvet Letter Studio’s business.
All content on this Website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, page headers, button icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, scripts, service names, and the compilation of any content, and the intellectual property rights therein are the sole and exclusive property of Velvet Letter Studio or its content suppliers, protected by the United States and international law.
All stationery artwork and designs remain the copyright of Velvet Letter Studio, they may not be reproduced in any form without prior written permission from Velvet Letter Studio.
It is the clients’ responsibility to get permission to reproduce any copyrighted materials, such as the words of hymns or poems, images or photographs which are to be featured in the stationery. You shall indemnify Velvet Letter Studio on written demand in respect of any third party claims that material provided by you infringes that third party’s copyright.
Velvet Letter Studio reserves the right to use any stationery created for you to promote our products and services, however, we will never share any of your contact information with third parties.
Velvet Letter Studio reserves the right to turn a bespoke design into a Custom Collection design, but only after your wedding or event has taken place. We retain the right to use artwork or elements from our Bespoke designs for marketing, advertising and other products not just limited to stationery.
PERMITTED USES OF PRODUCT(S)
Velvet Letter Studio grants to Client a non-exclusive license of the product(s) produced with and for the client for personal use only so long as the client provides Velvet Letter Studio with attribution each time client uses Velvet Letter Studio’s property. Personal use includes, but is not limited to, use within the following contexts:
- In photos on clients’ personal social media pages or profiles; or
- In personal creations, such as a scrapbook or personal gift; or
- In personal communications, such as a family newsletter or email or holiday card.
SHIPPING, DELIVERY + RETURNS
Velvet Letter Studio will use its best efforts to deliver orders at the time stated; however, all delivery dates shall be regarded as estimates only. Purchasers shall accept the actual delivery date, and the risk of loss and ownership for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier. Velvet Letter Studio shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages or expenses suffered by the purchaser or any other party as a result of any delay in delivery.
Velvet Letter Studio will strive to follow all applicable export and import laws for international shipments. The customer or recipient is responsible for all taxes, duties, tariffs, and any other fees associated with importing their order. Velvet Letter Studio will not be responsible for these fees. Velvet Letter Studio will not provide an estimate of fees before shipment and will not be responsible for any international shipments once the package has left the production location. Velvet Letter Studio will not be held liable for our failure to disclose these fees to you.
If you believe the product to be faulty due to an error on our part, please notify us in writing with the details within 5 business days of receiving your order. Upon receiving your order back, we will investigate the issue and reply to you with our decision within 7 working days. If your stationery is deemed to be faulty on the part of Velvet Letter Studio we will of course correct or replace your stationery. Velvet Letter Studio will only offer a full refund if the order is faulty in its entirety.
FORCE MAJURE
Notwithstanding the above, either party may choose to be excused of any further performance obligations in the event of a disastrous occurrence outside the control of either party, such as, but not limited to the following force majeure events (“Force Majeure Events”): (a) acts of God; (b) a natural disaster (fires, explosions, earthquakes, hurricane, flooding, storms, explosions, infestations), epidemic, or pandemic; (c) war, invasion, hostilities (whether war is declared or not), terrorist threats or acts, riot or other civil unrest; (d) government order or law; (e) actions, embargoes or blockades in effect on or after the date of this Agreement; (f) action by any governmental authority; (g) national or regional emergency; (h) strikes, labour stoppages or slowdowns or other industrial disturbances; and (i) shortage of adequate power or transportation facilities.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY
The client agrees that the maximum amount of damages he or she is entitled to in any claim relating to this agreement or services provided in this agreement are not to exceed the total cost of services provided by Velvet Letter Studio.
VENDOR RESPONSIBILITIES + LIABILITIES
A final contract will be sent to the client before bulk production. The contract includes the full proofs as finals and approval by the client are mandatory to start production. The client agrees to carefully review the aforementioned contract in all its components and pieces, and sign whereas approved; this will give Velvet Letter Studio permission to print all pieces as appearing on the aforementioned contract. Velvet Letter Studio is not responsible for any mistakes or misspellings present on the signed aforementioned contract, client understands that by signing the contract, they will be responsible for all eventual mistakes.
PROOFS + ARTWORKS
Proofs will be sent via email, approximately 7 working days after your order is placed. We will follow with great detail the design brief or specifications you give us. Great care is taken to ensure all information is accurate, however, it is ultimately the responsibility of the client to check layout, copy, spelling and grammar. If designs are approved with type errors and subsequently printed Velvet Letter Studio takes no responsibility, and will not be liable for any resulting cost. If replacements are required, a 50% reprint cost is applied to the stationery piece or pieces. It is therefore of the utmost importance that you check all spelling and copy thoroughly before approving any designs. We would always advise obtaining a printed sample prior to printing. This sample is $30.
Please note that the colour on your screen may differ from the printed colour, each screen has collaborated differently and this is particularly noticeable on phones and tablets. It is therefore advisable to print off all proofs and final artwork before giving your approval. Please bear in mind that printers also vary and that your final stationery will be printed on the highest quality professional print press therefore the colours may differ slightly.
We provide three digital proofs free of charge, thereafter proofs will be charged at $25 per proof. We highly recommend reading through all designs carefully and sending back your changes in one go. Please be aware that any major changes to the design at this stage may incur a further design fee. Once you are happy with the final proof, formal approval is accepted via email. We will forward this to you via email to be completed and returned confirming that you are happy for us to print it. This is just be completed before we can go to print.
CANCELLATIONS, LOSS OR DAMAGE
Once an order has been placed, we will do our best to accommodate any amendments that you request to numbers and requirements. However, once any third party costs have been incurred, it will not be possible to cancel an item.
Any orders cancelled before work has commenced will receive the deposit back in full, less the credit card fee of 3%. Your deposit is non-refundable once you have received proof.
Velvet Letter Studio cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to your order once it has been dispatched.
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these Terms and Conditions (or any other agreement between us) that is caused by any act or event beyond our reasonable control. If such an event occurs, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you, that our obligations will be suspended and the time for performance of our obligations will be extended for the duration of the event and we will arrange a new timeline and delivery date.
VARIATIONS
Due to the nature of handmade crafts, each item will be slightly different (but very unique and beautiful in its own way). All items are custom ordered and take 3-4 weeks to ship and complete. Rush orders are available at an additional charge.
We are pleased to take any custom order or request for wedding stationery, baby shower invitations, engagement, bridal shower, handmade boxes etc.
Image colours may vary from monitor to monitor. It is not possible for me to guarantee the exact colour you see on your screen. Colours may not match what you see on the screen. Desktop computer monitors may be more accurate for colour proofing than laptop monitors. Sample designs are available for purchase.

ORDER TIMELINE

Once we received your deposit and order form, we will schedule your order.
Approximately 7 working days for your first proof /design.
3 rounds of proofing are included free and thereafter a fee of $25 will be applied per digital proof.
Approximately 7 working days for printing for standard printing after sign off of proof.
Approximately 14 working days for printing for specialised printing after sign off of proof. This includes any finishing, e.g. laser invitations, pocket fold invitations, envelope liners and foil and letterpress.
Average overall timeline 4-6 weeks.
We will always try to accommodate tighter timescales if we can, please let us know if you have a deadline and we will do our utmost best to meet this.
